Westport Food Fund Goal of $50,000 by April 15

Fundraising goal: $50,000 by April 15th

COVID-19 is affecting everyone. We don’t normally think of Westport as in need, but in these times it is.

Roughly 4.3% of people living in Westport are food-insecure. That equates to approximately 1,194 individuals, many are children and seniors.  This number is growing daily due to the COVID-19 crisis. Many people who were living paycheck to paycheck now face unemployment and severe food insecurity. Calls to DHS have skyrocketed.

The Town Department of Human Services relies on the generosity of community donations to provide emergency food (and other emergency financial assistance) to those in need; this is not part of the town budget, so we have launched this campaign to raise money for the hungry during this critical time.

Leading Westport families and organizations have already gotten us over half the way to our goal - now we need our citizens to carry us through. To learn more call Westport Human Services at 203-341-1050
