CT's Beardsley Zoo Partners with Woofgang to Offer Quarantine Provisions

Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo and Woofgang & Co. announced a new idea for gift giving during the pandemic:  the “Quarantine Provisions” package. Available at woofgangco.org for $50 (plus shipping), each package contains a temperature control tumbler, a 10 oz. package of dog treats, and an eight-inch plush toy from the Zoo. Purchasers can select from a Red panda, sloth or tiger.

Each “Quarantine Provisions” is packaged with care by young adults with disabilities. Shipping charges are $6.00; the package will arrive within 7-10 days. Orders can be placed at https://www.woofgangco.org/shop.html

Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is a non-profit organization approaching its 100th year at a time when the mission of helping fragile wildlife populations and eco-systems is more important than ever.

Woofgang & Co. is a nonprofit organization helping young people with disabilities succeed by creating jobs tailored to the individual, while providing high-quality pet treats and handcrafted novelty items.

“The intersection of supporting pets, people and endangered animals is an irresistible way to provide socially-aware opportunities for gift giving,” said Zoo Director Gregg Dancho. “Purchasing from nonprofits during the pandemic helps to sustain us for the future.”

“Woofgang & Co’s mission was born of a love of animals and a desire to support young adults with special needs. Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo has always been at the forefront of accessibility efforts, and is a fan favorite among our team,” said Woofgang & Co. Executive Director Erika Eng. “It is a very organic partnership! Nonprofits helping one another during a time of economic uncertainty for a sustainable future: that is what community is all about.”
