Shana’s House of Westport receives needed mattress donations from Mattress Concierge

Mattress Concierge Donates Much-Needed Mattresses to Organizations in Stratford, Westport, and White Plains

Mattress Concierge, a provider of high-end luxury mattresses to the hospitality industry as well as to the residential market, recently donated 64 mattresses to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Stratford, three queen mattresses to Shana’s House of Westport, and 20 mattresses and bunkee boards to Furniture Sharehouse of White Plains, NY. Mattress Concierge wanted to donate new and gently used mattresses to organizations that help individuals in need, especially during the additional stressors created by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Stratford, an independently owned reuse store operated by the local Habitat for Humanity organization, accepts donations and sell home improvement items to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities and around the world. 

Richard Desautels, ReStore Manager, said, “The Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Stratford, CT is a fundraising arm of Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County. We were thrilled when Mattress Concierge contacted us with this wonderful donation luxury mattresses. It is through partnerships like these that we are able to help local families in our community build a place to call home.”

Furniture Sharehouse provides free furniture to economically disadvantaged individuals and families living in Westchester County, giving them the basic household furnishings that enable them to rebuild their lives with dignity.

Kate Bialo, Executive Director and Founder of Furniture Sharehouse, said, “We are so grateful for this incredible donation from Mattress Concierge. The item our clients need most is beds, especially queen-sized beds, and we have not had any to distribute for several months.  Thanks to this amazing and timely donation, 20 families in need will be getting a great night's sleep on one of Mattress Concierge's premium mattresses instead of sleeping on the floor.”

Shana’s House helps women ages 18 and older, who are coming out of residential recovery programs, develop an understanding of addiction to acquire the skills necessary to avoid relapse. The small residential community and two-phased step-down approach allows women to develop socially, professionally, and academically. Mattress Concierge’s donations will be used in the new rooms Shana’s House has added.
