The stars will come out in Ridgefield next Sunday, March 4th for the RIFF OSCAR® Screening Party beginning at 7:30 PM at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in support of the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival.
The gala will feature great food, festive drinks, premium wine and beer, interactive games, and swag bags. The glamor quotient will be off the charts as attendees walk the red carpet and then gather to watch the 90th Academy Awards broadcast streamed live from Hollywood and projected on a giant screen and large flat screen TVs.
Iconic celebrities and historical figures will appear in the form of rare artifacts donated and authenticated by world-renowned collector John Reznikoff of University Archives. The items will be auctioned throughout the evening and proceeds will go directly to support Ridgefield Independent Film Festival, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Select auction items include:
- A custom-framed, extremely rare vintage portrait of the reclusive film star, GRETA GARBO ("I vant to be alone") from her own personal collection.
- A striking limited edition WINSTON CHURCHILL presentation featuring an iconic image of the famed British Prime Minister with a cigar in his mouth along with pieces of one of his favorite Cuban cigars (a Habana El Dinamico) encased in an archival-safe container.
- A beautiful matted and framed presentation of first family from the early days of the “Camelot” presidency. An original 8x10 color photograph of the first family (JFK, JACKIE, CAROLINE, and JOHN JR), along with Jackie’s personalized Crane stationary (“Mrs. John Fitzgerald Kennedy”) and her personal Ex Libris bookplate from Tiffany's (“Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy”)
- ELVIS PRESLEY will be in the building! An Al Hirschfeld print of The King along with a first day of issue Elvis Presley stamp.
