Project Return empowers young women in crisis to rebuild their lives by providing a safe, secure, and structured environment where they learn life skills, heal family relationships, and strengthen other life-long connections needed for healthy independent living.

Trace and Amy hope to reconnect the community and energize the downtown Westport environment through art. Westport has a rich history of arts, culture, and engagement.

The fifteen artists exhibiting works in the gallery will be Amy Kaplan, Trace Burroughs, Heidi Lewis Coleman, Noah Steinman, Liz Leggett, Dan Long, Katherine Ross, Lisa Silberman, Charles Douthalt, Julie Leff, Scott Glaser, Melissa Newman, Holly Hawthorne, Erich Davis and Diane Pollack.

Music provided by talented singer guitarist Steven Gilbert. His influences include George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Mark Knopfler, Josh White, Wes Montgomery, Doc Watson, Eric Clapton, and Richard Thompson.

Trace and Amy are convinced the power of art will connect and contribute to the social and cultural life of a community. In my various personal projects, we have always looked for a way to involve partners, be they non-profits, local businesses or other cultural disciplines. The opportunity to do a Pop Up Gallery in the middle of downtown Westport is such an opportunity.

They secured the space with the help of Randy Herbertson, President of the Westport DMA and a local businessman himself. The property owner of 153 Post Rd East agreed to work with us so that we could show an exciting collection of art representing more than 31 local artists over the span of 2 shows. Both Clasp Homes and Project Return are local charities that work hard to realize Westport’s ideals of community compassion and will benefit by taking home a percentage of any sales.  And everyone is invited when we open our doors in May!
