CONCERT AND COCKTAILS – A New Music Series in Westport

WESTPORT – Beginning Thursday April 11, Xpozur Gallery, Westport’s newest art gallery on the Saugatuck River at 263 Riverside Avenue, will turn its art space into a music space. Westport’s newest concert series, taking place in this beautiful gallery, is called “Concerts and Cocktails”. The series will open with The Suzanne Sheridan Trio on Thursday April 11 from 6 to 8 pm.

Always the adventurous musician, Suzanne Sheridan is best known to audiences on both coasts, Canada and Australia for her tributes to musical greats Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Pete Seeger, and Carole King. More recently she has discovered the seductive musical prowess of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and so many other composers from the era commonly known as the era of the Great American Songbook.

Playing alongside Suzanne in her newest musical adventure is the renowned Greg DeTroy on keyboards and the sublime John Mobilio on standup bass. With a sultry voice, an innate sense of musicality, a gift for understatement, and a singular rapport with audiences, Suzanne brings her years of musical adventures to start the “Concert and Cocktails” series at Westport’s Xpozur Gallery. Suzanne’s musical performances and CD’s are viewable at Suzanne Sheridan Music

The second concert in the series, on Thursday May 9, will be the very popular Chris Coogan and Ben Dean playing traditional repertoire from the Gypsy jazz songbook. Both are virtuosos on their respective instruments –piano and violin.

The “Concert and Cocktails” series promises to present seductive, unusual, and entertaining evenings in a non-traditional setting. Each concert will feature hors d’ouerves, wine, and music from 6 – 8 pm. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased by clicking on https://xpozur.gallery/product/suzanne-sheridan-trio/. With a limited capacity at the gallery, it is suggested that reservations be made early.
