Saugatuck Socials: Bastille Day Celebration on July 18

Join us on Thurs., July 18th, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm for the next in our series of Saugatuck Socials.

The Westport Historical Society began in Saugatuck in 1889. Members read interesting historical documents aloud or shared local stories. We invite you to join us for a drink and a nibble while we share stories, poems, historic essays and music with the rest of our community. Listen as others present original works or pre-selected pieces from history such as the Declaration of Independence or the Gettysburg Address. Join in with a related work or artifact of your own!

Discuss the International reactions to the revolution of France—the once allies of the fledgling United States—and the Terror that followed, near the anniversary of the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789.

There is no charge for this event however reservations are recommended at www.westporthistory.org or call (203) 222-1424 x5. Light refreshments will be served.
