Saving the Planet Starts in Your Own Backyard, Native Plant Installation at Earthplace

Saving the Planet Starts in Your Own Backyard: See How at Earthplace’s Native Plant Installation All Day on September 13

Learn how you can help save the world starting in your own backyard on September 13 at our Earthplace native plant demonstration garden. Learn how you can add native plants to your yards and keep our food crops being pollinated!

The project is supported in part by a grant from the Westport Woman's Club to the Aspetuck Land Trust and Earthplace. Come by and say hi during the planting from 10am - 5pm with a celebratory toast and ribbon cutting at 4pm.

And leave with specimen plants or seeds that you can plant that same afternoon.

This native garden is part of Aspetuck Land Trust’s Green Corridor Initiative and is the first in a series of demonstration gardens being created by Aspetuck Land Trust to teach homeowners how to create more habitat in their own yards for the native insects that are dying off from pesticides and are critical for pollinating our native food crops: bees, birds, and butterflies. You will be invited to several free hands-on classes this fall and winter to get you started. Stay tuned for dates and places.
