Musician Billy Jonas to guide us through a hopeful new vision of strength and unity.
Billy Jonas, songsmith and multi-instrumentalist, will perform a community concert that will lift our spirits and strengthen our resolve. With original songs, daring harmonies, a mix of homemade “re-percussion” and conventional instruments, and infectious humor, our audience will get their wonder-buttons pushed.
These days, our country is bitterly divided; compassion seems in short supply. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Let’s dream about how we might co-create wholeness and harmony in 2020! At this multi-faith funky folk music concert, Billy will entertain us with genre-bending, style-blending singalongs, bangalongs, whisperalongs, soundscapes, and improvisations. This musically rich, thought provoking, and inspirational evening is for everyone, regardless of age or cultural background. This event is co-sponsored by Temple Israel Westport, Westport Weston Clergy Association, Interfaith Council of Westport & Weston, Federation of Upper Fairfield County, and Team Westport.
Billy Jonas is a performer, singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and educator. He uses voice, guitar, and an industrial re-percussion, at each concert to bring his audience on heart-healing, joy-filled journey. As a founding member of the folk music duo, "The Billys," and current leader of The Billy Jonas Band, Jonas has made use of recyclable items as instruments. His show focuses on enlightening audiences to each person’s inherent musical ability, and the musical potential of common “found objects.” Billy Jonas' seven albums, PBS special, and two decades of live concerts have generated a following throughout North America.
