Westport Library and Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts Present Podcast Series With Miggs and Trace Burroughs

The Westport Library and the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University today announced a partnership with Miggs and Trace Burroughs to produce their widely acclaimed podcast series, Oh Brother, Not Another Podcast!

The Burroughs brothers, longtime Westporters, launched the series with a live podcast from the Westport Library’s new studio space for filmmaking, music production, and podcasting nearly 12 months ago, during the library’s post-renovation reopening.

Now, with nearly a dozen Oh Brother podcasts available on the library’s YouTube channel, this new partnership with the Quick Center for the Arts offers an opportunity to broaden audiences and expand the roster of guest interviewees.

“We are delighted to partner with the Quick and the Burroughs brothers on this entertaining and informative podcast series,” said Bill Harmer, executive director of the Westport Library. “Working with community partners and collaborators is second nature to the library and helps us ensure that we’re reaching the public with our created content.”

Lori Jones, director of programming and audience development at the Quick Center for the Arts shared, “The Quick has often considered starting a podcast because we believe in the power of storytelling, and the shift to an online platform this spring with our “quick sessions” really opened us to the possibilities. We are excited to start this new partnership with the Westport Library and Miggs and Trace Burroughs as they are each engaged deeply in the community and cultural world, and we believe this partnership will not only expand our audience reach but also encourage listeners to engage more deeply with the incredible artists we work with throughout each season.”

“Thanks to the Westport Library, the Quick Center for the Arts, and iTunes, our podcast will now be available to a much wider and diverse audience,” said Miggs Burroughs. “Trace and I are thrilled that this innovative partnership will give us access to a huge roster of talent and personalities for interviews and hijinks, with the enrichment and entertainment of our audience being priority number one.”

Recordings of past episodes of Oh Brother, Not Another Podcast! are available on iTunes and through the Westport Library YouTube Channel. The new partnership will launch on these platforms starting June 22, 2020, with an episode featuring special guest Tony Award-winner Joanna Gleason, who recently launched a new evening-length work at the Quick.
