The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of the arts and culture across the 15 towns in our region of coastal Fairfield County and each Wednesday issues our free E-Buzz newsletter with a selection of the hundreds of events posted to our website by our members.

Parsons Dance and The Ballet School of Stamford at The Palace Theatre, Stamford

Come together for a special evening of dance with two dance companies. Act One features “Alice in Wonderland” with The Ballet School of Stamford and Act Two shines the spotlight on Parsons Dance, the internationally renowned contemporary American dance company. An exciting evening of dance for the entire family! 

Quiet Riot at The Wall Street Theater, Norwalk

Friday, May 27 at 8:00 pm

Celebrate the first heavy metal band to top the pop chart at #1 on Billboard magazine! The Los Angeles quartet became an overnight sensation thanks to their 1983 smash album Metal Health. Now, it’s the 40th Anniversary of the album and this concert celebrates their landmark with special guests, Connecticut's own Wild America and New Jersey's Johnny Weasel.

Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Jonathan Larson’s “RENT” is a show about falling in love, following your dreams, and finding your voice! It has become a pop-cultural phenomenon with a story that follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side. In this groundbreaking musical, these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves and conflicts and learn that there is “no day but today!”

Outdoor Clay Play! at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum

Saturday, May 28 at 10:00 am 

Enjoy a family-friendly, art-making workshop, inspired by nature, outdoors in the Museum’s Sculpture Garden. Together with Aldrich Educators, learn about the artist Alice Aycock, whose work can be seen in the 52 Artists: A Feminist Milestone exhibition. Then, create your own land-art piece with clay and natural materials to take home, inspired by Aycock’s exploration of the earth’s surface. Families and children of all ages are welcome to participate.

“Flutter Zone” at The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk

Starting Saturday, May 28, Daily 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Journey through a magical habitat of butterflies. This special walk-through exhibit and summer encounter offers guests the chance to mingle among 20 varieties of vibrant butterflies from Central and South America. Check on the chrysalises throughout the summer, and learn about the horticultural and agricultural importance of butterflies, moths and other pollinators. Special craft activities for kids too! Runs through September 5th.

Magnificent Monster Circus at Stepping Stones Museum for Children, Norwalk

Saturday, May 28 at 2:00 pm

CactusHead Puppets’ performance is sure to be a scream! Encounter magnificent creatures from the wilds of your imagination as their quirky human caretaker tries to teach them new tricks. Children can lend a hand to Eustice the Unicycling Unimonster, make friends with a Fiery Fanged Worm, cheer for Agnes the many-legged Acropod, and more! This colorful, silly and multi-sensory show full of friendly monsters is a perfect match for young audiences.

Red, White and Blues '22 on the Grounds of 9 School Road, Weston

Saturday, May 28 at 2:00 - 10:00 pm

It’s a free live concert, presented by Weston Arts at the Memorial Day Fair in Weston! Enjoy a performance by talented youth and fellow community members. The line up includes CROCE, The Westones, Red Metal, Abbey Soul, Eclipse, Caravan, the Band and more! Raindate: Sunday

Westport Fine Arts Festival on Elm Street in Downtown Westport

Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm 

A top twenty nationally ranked show, this juried festival features award-winning work of fine artists from across the country in 10 categories. A free event for all to visit, all art is available for purchase at a wide range of price points. Visitors will enjoy live music both days, and popular local food trucks! Check out the special children's area for young artists.

Memorial Day Picnic and Concert at Fairfield Museum

Monday, May 30 at 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Grab your family and friends and come to a fun-filled afternoon with live music from the Connecticut Symphonic Winds Quartet, a three-legged race, a watermelon eating contest, crafts, games, and much more. A proud member of Blue Star Museums, the Fairfield Museum offers free admission to museums for all active duty, National Guard and Reserve military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
