2023 begins in full force with a slate of art, music, theatre, comedy, and more! Dance, sing, laugh, and explore your way into the new year with any or all of the following events:

 “Aldrich After Hours”  at Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield

Friday, January 6, 5:00 - 7:00 pm

Enjoy a drink, explore, and celebrate the final weekend of the current exhibition, 52 Artists: A Feminist Milestone. This historic exhibition closes on January 8th! Executive Director Cybele Maylone will be on-site to lead highlight tours of the show.

“Colors” at The Wilton Library, Wilton

Friday, January 6, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Head to the library for an exhibit reception of  the dramatic and colorful works of the talented Weston husband-and-wife duo - Julie Leff and Charles Douthat. Their mediums are oil and acrylic, primarily on canvas, with subject matter ranging from florals and still lifes to abstracts, and more. A majority of the works will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library. On view through March 3rd.

YYNOT at Wall Street Theater, Norwalk

Friday, January 6, 8:00 pm

This Progressive Rock band is the result of award winning guitarist/songwriter Billy Alexander and Florida-based virtuoso bassist Tim Starace. The duo comes together with drummer Mike Hetzel and vocalist Patty PerShayla to create both original progressive rock and “note-for-note” vintage RUSH covers while adding their own swagger to the mix. 

The Ugly Duckling at Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Bridgeport

Starting Saturday, January 7, 12:00 pm

Enjoy a hilarious new adaptation of the timeless story of a duckling who doesn’t belong and his journey to becoming a beautiful swan. A true Cabaret original about the “duckling” who never loses hope and ultimately surprises everyone. Running on weekends through Feb 5th.

Desert Highway: A Tribute to the Eagles at Downtown Cabaret Theatre, Bridgeport

Saturday, January 7, 5:00 - 8:00 pm

Spend the night listening to a non-stop journey of numerous radio hits, top ten singles, and album favorites. Both musically and visually, this group presents the excitement of a live Eagles concert.

Winter Dance Party at The Westport Library

Saturday, January 7, 6:30 - 10:00 pm

Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez serve up their blue-eyed soul songs in the Trefz Forum at Verso Studios. Join resident Saturday Night Live singing tour-de-force, the Beehive Queen, as Ohlman and her band Rebel Montez — Chris Bickley, Lorne Entress, and Michael Colbath. Dance into the new year with one of the best R&B hip-shakin’ acts north of the Mason-Dixon Line. 

 “Jibaro Soy! My Life in 3 Parts” at Klein Auditorium, Bridgeport

Saturday, January 7, 7:30 - 9:30 pm

Comedian Elizardi Castro returns to Bridgeport with a Spanglish combination of his 3 shows: "Made in Puerto Rico", "Law & DISorder" and "Capicu!" Live music by the 10-piece band Orquesta Afinke is infused into the show; forming one hilarious blend of culture, family & music. 

LaughTrax with Vincent James at The Palace Theatre, Stamford

Saturday, January 7, 8:00 - 9:30 pm 

You won’t stop laughing with the comedian who can be seen on the MSG Network and heard on SiriusXM radio. One of the most sought after MC’s in the business, James is a ball of energy on stage, combining his quick wit, physical comedy, and sharp storytelling to give the audience a memorable, laughter-filled experience. 

Mohegan Tribe Traditions at Stratford Historical Society, Stratford

Sunday, January 8, 2:00 pm

Celebrate Mohegan Tribe Traditions at the Catherine B. Mitchell Museum in Stratford.  Enjoy an afternoon of music, dancing, and Native culture as outreach specialist David Eichelberg presents Mohegan traditions with hands-on activities and performance. There will be light refreshments to follow.
