K-5 After School Programs in Westport for Creative Kids!

Registration is open for Westport Continuing Education after school programs for creative kids including Arts & Creativity and Theater Arts. The winter session begins the week of January 27 at all five elementary schools. A convenient program calendar listing offerings by day-of-the week and school is online here. A variety of convenient options are available at all five elementary schools in Westport. At Coleytown Elementary School (CES), artists can express themselves with Art Exploration: Painting to paint on everything from canvas to rocks with fun and unusual additions such as sand, glue and salt. The new MoCA of Westport presents Meet the Abstract Masters at Greens Farms (GFS), Kings Highway (KHS) and Saugatuck Elementary (SES) for only one session, so sign up now to create cool modern art! Our newest partner, One River School, presents Art Shuffle at Saugatuck Elementary, where kids can enjoy creative projects that stimulate the imagination. Over at KHS and GFS, comic lovers will enjoy Create-a-Comic, developing their own characters and spellbinding storylines.  

Hobby Quest presents Fashion Denim Dreams where kids learn how to design, hand-sew and embellish a denim vest is available at CES, GFS, KHS and SES! New this session is Story Crafting: Create Your Own Tales where kids can bring to life their own imaginative world through creative writing, offered at CES, GFS and KHS. Budding writers also enjoy Pen*Stars Creativity Club at GFS, incorporating music, drama, art and brain-stimulating games and activities.  

Theater Arts has expanded to include a high-energy, one-of-a-kind hoop class, BringtheHoopla’s Happy Hoopin.’ In this program, kids learn positive self-expression through physical fitness, offered at CES, GFS, LLS and SES. Nisan, the Magic Genie is back with more tricks up his sleeve at Kings Highway and Long Lots. This class fills up like magic! More traditional theater arts is offered for younger students at Long Lots with The Wonderful World of Theater and TheaterCamp 4 Kids! Broadway Acting, Dancing & Singing is offered at Greens Farms and Saugatuck.
