February Break Program at Westport Historical Society

Westport Historical Society will present three fun-filled days from 9 am to 1 pm during vacation week relating to awareness and activism for children ages 6-11.

Join us for one, two or all three days, Feb. 20 through Feb. 22. Nicole Carpenter, WHS Education Director, says “This holiday program is a great opportunity for kids to explore history in imaginative ways, examining artifacts, playing old fashioned games, and creating objects that are fun and enjoyable to learn and play with.”

All three days are centered on the idea of awareness, as February is the national month of American History, African-American History and Women’s History. Children will participate in activities such as crafting a dream catcher and creating finger puppets of historic figures to put on a show! Our new exhibit “The Curious Case of Ed Vebell” will be explored as well as a chance to sketch like the Sports Illustrated artist.

We are pleased to offer these interactive and engaging programs to explore our local and national history with hands-on crafts, games, and special guests who are sure to bring smiles to everyone.

Please bring a bag lunch on Tues, February 20 and Wednesday, February 21. On Thursday, February 22, we will have a pizza lunch. Themed snacks will be made each day.

Limited registration, to hold your spot see our website, westporthistory.org. Please call (203) 222-1424 for single day reservations.
