On the Children's Shelf: Fall TBR

I have a confession ... I haven't been reading as much as usual. I got caught up in the rush of the end of October ... Halloween costumes, do we have enough candy for trick or treaters, school weather closings, and the list goes on. So here I am at the end of the week shocked by how little I  have read.

I felt bad because how can you be a reader, but not read for most of a week? Then I remembered something I read a long time ago. It may have been advice for someone who was struggling with a diet, but it applies here … If you drop your cell phone, you pick it up and check that it is okay and make a mental note to try not to drop it again. You don't drop it and say "well, I messed that up" and then repeatedly drop it until it is destroyed.

Sometimes, things don’t go the way we plan … We eat something not on our diet, or I don't pick up any new books for a week, but in those moments, we have a choice: Get back on track, or admit defeat. So I will get back on track and read some new books, and I look forward to telling you about them.

So here's what I'm reading (or planning to read soon):

"Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes" by Rick Riordan (currently reading)

“Percy Jackson's Greek Gods" by Rick Riordan

"The Good Good Pig"  by Sy Montgomery

"Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" by Gregory Maguire

"The Land of Stories" by Chris Colfer (this has been on my to be read list for a while and needs to jump to the top immediately)
