Fairfield County’s Community Foundation Introduces New Community Impact Awards in Partnership with Moffly Media

-Nominate nonprofits by July 9th, 2018; Winners to be honored at Light a Fire Awards Ceremony

For 10 years, Moffly Media’s Light a Fire Awards have celebrated the individuals and organizations changing lives in Fairfield County. Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF) has announced that the organization has expanded its partnership with Moffly Media to introduce a new awards category which will be presented during Moffly’s Light A Fire Awards ceremony on November 29th, 2018.

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s inaugural Community Impact Awards will be awarded to two nonprofit organizations. Each winner will receive a $2,500 grant and a year of free trainings and workshops (a $2,000 value) from FCCF’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence. They will also be honored on-stage at the November Light a Fire Awards ceremony, featured in publicity and social media efforts, and highlighted in special Moffly Media magazine coverage.

Award Eligibility Guidelines:

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation invites award nominations based on the following eligibility criteria:

  •       Fairfield County-based 501c3 nonprofit organizations that demonstrate organizational values of diversity, equity, inclusion, collaboration and integrity.
  •       Actively serving youth and young adults, women and girls, and/or immigrants.
  •       Focused on closing the opportunity gap by eliminating disparities in income, education, employment, housing or health.
  •       Must have received a competitive grant from FCCF in 2016, 2017 or 2018.

All eligible nominations will be reviewed by an Award Selection Committee comprised of staff at FCCF, board members and Fairfield County community members.  Winners will be announced on/about August 1st, 2018.

A portion of ticket proceeds from the Light a Fire Awards event in November is generously donated by Moffly Media to Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF).
