Hobby Quest After School Enrichment Comes to Westport

Hobby Quest After School Enrichment Comes to Westport

Westport, CT -- This winter and spring, Westport Continuing Education (WCE) is partnering with Hobby Quest to present new STEM-based and skill-building enrichment programs after school at Greens Farms, Saugatuck, Coleytown, Long Lots and Kings Highway elementary schools. Classes begin the week of January 27 and registration is now open at https://www.westportcontinuinged.com/.

In Airplane Captains kids in grades K-3 learn all about aviation—the science of flight—while building their own model airplanes that actually fly! As a commander in this exclusive flying club, kids learn important STEM concepts in order to build NEW aircraft models like the Batman helicopter, the long-flying Airshow and more! The children have the satisfaction of flying their planes outside with the group, and then they take them home. It’s a perfect combination of science and fun! The after school program starts the week of January 27 at Coleytown and Long Lots Schools and on April 20 for Saugatuck School.

Starting the week of January 27 at Greens Farms and Saugatuck Schools, Hobby Quest is also offering Fashion Denim Dreams for students in grades 3-5 to learn the basics of hand-sewing and fashion design. Creativity is encouraged and each child finishes with a full, unique wearable outfit to model for friends and family in the closing fashion show. Children design, stitch, alter and decorate their own garments—a trendy denim vest and colorful cotton skirt/shorts. The spring session begins the week of April 20 and will be offered at Coleytown and Kings Highway Schools.

Hobby Quest has been providing fun and unique hands-on enrichment programming in the tri-state area since 2002. Currently working in over 600 schools, camps and community centers, Hobby Quest expanded into Fairfield county last year. All classes are taught by experienced, energetic and caring educators who love to inspire kids.
