After Exposure to COVID-10 Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe Tests Negative

First Selectman Jim Marpe today issued the following statement and update to Westport residents

Mr. Marpe stated, “Yesterday, I announced that on Sunday, October 18, I was in direct contact with an individual who earlier this week exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 and who tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. The result of my subsequent COVID-19 test was negative, and I’m not exhibiting any symptoms of the virus. To clarify yesterday’s statement, despite my negative test, I will continue to self-quarantine for 14 days (until November 1), following CDC guidelines and medical advice.”
