Town of Westport P&Z Public Hearing on March 11 Text Amendment to Continue Outdoor Activities
Planning and Zoning Director Mary Young has announced that on March 11, 2021 at 6:00 PM, the Planning and Zoning Commission is holding a public hearing on Text Amendment #788 which will continue Outdoor Activities until further notice and that otherwise will expire March 31, 2021.
The Explanatory Statement for Text Amendment #788 available here describes current regulations providing temporary relief from zoning standards to facilitate outdoor patron dining, but will expire on March 31, 2021. The Planning and Zoning Commission intends to continue these regulations until further notice in order to allow local businesses to plan for the warm weather months, and to expand the regulations to include Outdoor Activities for retail establishments consistent with the enabling legislation passed by Governor Lamont under Executive Order #7MM. The Planning and Zoning Commission’s March 11, 2021 meeting will be live streamed at 6:00 PM on the Town’s website at www.westportct.gov, and accessible on Optimum Government Access Channel 79 and Frontier Channel 6020. Comments can be sent prior to the meeting at PandZ@westportct.gov, during the meeting at PandZComments@westportct.gov, and interested parties may join the virtually to offer live testimony during the meeting if the meeting link is requested from the P&Z Director by noon on the day of the meeting.
