Staples award-winning journalism teacher speaks to Y's Men of Westport/Weston

Y’s Men will hear Staples award-winning journalism teacher Mary Elizabeth Fulco at their meeting on Thursday, February 8 at the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East, Westport, at 9:30 am. 

Ms. Fulco was honored by the Deadline Club of the New York City Society of Professional Journalists for excellence and professionalism. She is the Chair of Staples Journalism department, she teaches advanced journalism and is an adviser to Inklings, Staples student newspaper.

She was also honored as the Westport Schools’ Teacher of the Year in 2016.

She will talk about the interplay between social media and journalism as she sorts “the good, the bad and how to tame” the dynamic relationship between the two.

Y's Men of Westport/Weston is an organization of retired and semi-retired men with a continued interest in activity, fellowship, learning and community service. The group hosts weekly speakers and sponsors 27 activity groups, from bridge to walking, a book club, a camera club, and an international discussion group.
