Westport Entrepreneur and Seasoned Financial Planner Launches The Center for Retirement and Investment Planning

Financial Pioneer Vern Hayden, CFP®, author, contributing editor, TV commentator and financial planner and money manager has recently launched his own firm. The long-time Westport entrepreneur’s previous firm “Hayden Wealth Management” has been retired and replaced with The Center for Retirement and Investment Planning, a more definitive and purposeful name.  The office is in Westport at 55 Greens Farms Road, not far from the previous firm office for thirty years.  Mr. Hayden continues to specialize in working with people near or in retirement.

Over ten years ago, he sold his business, but continued to manage it.  The conflict in values and philosophy that developed over time caused him to depart from the relationship, leaving clients with a sole practitioner.

He is very pleased that many clients have rejoined him.  With a five person team of investment and financial planning professionals and support staff, they are dedicated to providing excellent personal service and attention to each client.  He was particularly concerned about excessive fees that were being charged.  When the advisor fee, the mutual fund fee and the cost of turnover was added up, it was not unusual to find the overall cost was two and a half percent of the amount invested.  For many situations, he has been able to cut that fee in half.
