Emmy Nominated PBS TV Host Holly Holden To Speak At Greenwich Benefit

The Grande Dame of Interior Design to Present Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Real Downton Abbey

The Inner-City Foundation for Charity & Education will hold a luncheon benefit on Wednesday, June 5 at the Belle Haven Club in Greenwich to raise money for the neediest families and individuals of Fairfield County. Emmy-nominated PBS TV host and interior designer Holly Holden will be the keynote speaker, and comedienne and Greenwich resident Bonnie Levison will be the Master of Ceremonies.

At the Luncheon Benefit Holly Holden will present a behind-the-scenes look at some of her episodes for her PBS TV show You Are Cordially Invited, including a look at Highclere Castle (the real Downton Abbey) with Lady Carnarvon, and Blenheim Palace with Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill in her family’s regal residence in England.

Holden, known in interior design circles as “The Grande Dame of Interior Design,” is on a self-proclaimed mission to spread the secret code of classic interior design. She is passionate about tradition and is an ASID Allied Member who has been designing classic, old-school interiors for thirty years. Her interior design firm, Holly Holden & Company, Ltd., has served clients across the United States and internationally.

Holden’s work has been presented on PBS and HGTV, in national magazines, and in several prestigious Show Houses. In 2018, Holly was awarded an Emmy nomination for You Are Cordially Invited, featuring masterpiece, privately owned houses.

Holly’s first book, “The Pretty & Proper Living Room” was released in 2013, and she is presently working on her new book, “Holly Holden’s Palm Beach Interiors.”

Holly's gracious style and timeless, understated interiors inside her Farmington, CT house, Fox Hall c.1803, were showcased in “The Great Houses of New England” (Rizzoli, 2008). The gardens at Fox Hall were documented for the Smithsonian Archives of American Gardens.

The Inner-City Foundation, founded in 1992, has provided more than $30 million in grants to about 200 local organizations and programs providing help to the neediest families and individuals of Fairfield County, including organizations and programs providing education, food, shelter, help for addiction, domestic violence, and more. The Luncheon is one of only two benefits a year hosted by The Foundation, and is a major source of funds for their work.
