Creativity Connects Westport
What fuels a vibrant, connected and creative community? What makes people feel good about living in Westport?
When locals share the creativity that they uncover in the nooks and crannies of their community it brings about connectivity and makes us all feel good. Believe it or not, you discover creativity every day as you walk, shop, work, and play in Westport?
Creativity connects us.

Tell us about an organization in your town that makes you feel good
myTEAM TRIUMPH CT (MTT)! The mission of this nonprofit is to eliminate social isolation for people with diverse abilities through the teamwork environment of endurance events such as 5k's and triathlons. All events and races have been put on hold, but if anything, this year of pandemic and quarantine have highlighted the issue of isolation even more. When the world opens up again, and you are looking to get involved as an individual, family, or office group, check out MTT. It's such a fun and inclusive organization that embraces diversity and community, and there's a spot on the team for everyone of all abilities and ages.
Where do you go for inspiration and creativity?
I'm a proud member of both the Artists Collective of Westport and MOCA Westport. Whether you are interested in gallery exhibitions, public art, classes, or talks by local or international artists, they are wonderful resources. During this past year, it's been inspiring to see artists respond creatively to the events of 2020, and reach out to connect via socially distant exhibitions and virtual channels. The emphasis on the arts, and the support artists get from the community and local leaders, is really what makes Westport special.
What do you love about your community?
I love that we live in a community where people care about their neighbors. We may not always agree on solutions to problems, but when someone asks for help, Westport responds.
