Westport Library Call for Vinyl Album Art - $1000 prize

The Westport Library calls for visual artists to submit work to be featured on a vinyl album cover–and to be used for digital and print promotions.

Fairfield County-based painters, illustrators, designers, photo-graphers, collage makers, and more, please apply. (Must be 14 years or older to be eligible).

On April 9, 2022 the Westport Library will reveal a first-of-its-kind Verso Records Compilation #1, an independent record label produced by the Library’s media resources and production hub, Verso Studios.

The debut album, a limited press, will be a compilation of emerging Connecticut and tri-state area musicians/artists. The compilation features a diverse array of talent across all genres, from jazz, rock, folk, to indie, heralding the oft unsung heroes of the region. All tracks were recorded live at Verso Studios in our state-of-the-art, hybrid-analog SSL Recording Studio.

The Library has asked the Artists Collective of Westport to oversee an independent jury committee. A prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the artist whose work is chosen.

12”x12” artwork should be in TIF, JPEG, PNG or PDF format at a minimum of 300 dpi.

Note: The in-house art department will add text and crop materials at their discretion.

DEADLINE: FRIDAY, MARCH 25, 2022. Apply HERE.
