Legacy of Leadership Luncheon Celebrates 110 Years of Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts of Connecticut Hosts Annual Fundraising Event on June 8 Honoring Women of Leadership-
Girl Scouts of Connecticut invites everyone to celebrate 110 years of Girl Scouts by recognizing remarkable women at its Annual Legacy of Leadership Luncheon. The three honorees exemplify Girl Scout values as leaders in their community and workplace who pave the way for all girls to thrive. The fundraising event will take place on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 11am at the Woodway Country Club in Darien, Connecticut.
“What better way to mark our amazing 110th milestone than to spotlight these women who represent what Girl Scouts is all about—leading with compassion and making sustainable change in our communities,” said Diana Mahoney, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Connecticut (GSOFCT). “We look forward to joining together to pay tribute to all of the women and girls who are making a difference and inspiring the next generation of female leaders.”
This year’s honorees are:
Judy Frey of Westport - Deeply committed to the mission of Girl Scouting, Judy’s legacy with GSOFCT spans over 30+ years. After serving as a troop leader for her daughter’s troop, Judy subsequently held several volunteer leadership roles, including as Board Chair of GSOFCT’s Southwestern Council. Judy has made significant contributions of her time and resources and is a member of the distinguished Juliette Gordon Lowe Society.
Polly O’Brien Morrow of Stamford - A dedicated changemaker and corporate philanthropic leader, Polly currently serves as Senior Program Manager, Global Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy for Pitney Bowes Inc, Vice President of the Pitney Bowes Foundation, and also Vice President of the Pitney Bowes Relief Fund. Polly’s passion for community was nurtured by her parents and through her own enriching experience as a Girl Scout and Troop Leader. Polly has dedicated her 35+ year career to being the consummate changemaker of tomorrow.
The luncheon includes a silent auction and program. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet local Gold Award Girl Scouts and learn about their projects. Tickets are $100 or $1000 for a table of 10.
All proceeds from the Legacy of Leadership Luncheon fundraiser go directly towards Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. There is still a variety of sponsorship opportunities available for this high-profile event. Supporters can also donate auction items and purchase tribute journal ads.
