Fairfield County Bank announces Ruden Report Achievement Scholarship recipients

Fairfield County Bank is proud to announce the five recipients of the inaugural Ruden Report Achievement Scholarship powered by Fairfield County Bank.

The recipients are Daniella Crisci of Newtown High School, Polly Parsons-Hills and Emily Fox of New Canaan High School, Alana Goldhaber of the 12th Academy of Information Technology and Engineering, and Charley Guthartz of Staples High School.

Each of the recipients are past or present high school student contributors to the Ruden Report. Student contributors are on the sidelines of local high school sporting events, recording, reporting, and interviewing student-athletes after games. Fairfield County Bank Executive Vice President of Marketing and Electronic Banking Stephen Wooters said of the scholarship, “We are thrilled to be able to help students realize their reporting aspirations with the Ruden Report and then go on to pursue them in their collegiate careers.”

The Ruden Report is owned and operated by David Ruden. Mr. Ruden has been reporting on the Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference for four decades. He spent nearly 20 years with the Stamford Advocate and has freelanced for the New York Times and CBS Sports. “Student Contributors make the difference for the Ruden Report,” said Ruden. “I cannot be at every single game. They have helped widen the coverage of the Ruden Report, while also honing valuable journalistic skills many will take onto college.” The Ruden Report Achievement Scholarship, powered by Fairfield County Bank, will be awarded yearly to up to five Ruden Report student contributors based on meritorious performance, totaling $5,000.

Fairfield County Bank is also a proud sponsor of the Ruden Report’s Player and Team of the Week. To learn more about the Ruden Report and how it supports Fairfield County student athletes and coaches visit https://therudenreport.com/
