Annual Clean Up Westport Day Scheduled for April 22

Parks and Recreation Director, Jennifer A. Fava announced today that the Westport Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Clean-up Westport Day event on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

“A letter has been sent to over 27 civic organizations and community groups asking for their help and cooperation in organizing the clean-up,” said Ms. Fava.  “Even if you are not part of any of the organized locations, you can still help clean up Westport by taking a few minutes on this day to clean up litter along your street or any public space.”

If you wish to participate, groups should specify the time and location of their clean-up efforts, by calling the Westport Parks and Recreation Department at 203.341.5091, prior to April 14.  At the conclusion of the event, the Town will collect bagged garbage and debris from the adopted spots.

Free trash bags will be available at the Westport Parks and Recreation office on April 20 between 8:30am and 4:30pm.  Trash bags will be limited to six bags per organization and must be requested by April 19.
