In conjunction with painter Susan Fehlinger's current exhibit, "From City to Sea," in the Westport Library's Great Hall, the Library will present the fifth in its series of Artist-to-Artist talks with a conversation between Fehlinger and photographer/illustrator - and the Library's former Artist-in-Residence - Miggs Burroughs on Tuesday, Jan. 30 from 6-7 p.m. in the Great Hall. Inaugurated in October 2016 as part of the Artist-in-Residence program, Burroughs has had conversations with each artist subsequently exhibiting in the Great Hall, including photographer Richard Frank and painters Heidi Palmer and Charles Reid. (Burroughs himself was interviewed during the run on his Great Hall exhibit, "Signs of Compassion," ending his year's residency.)
Susan Fehlinger had to be content with being an occasional painter during her 30-year career as a television producer in New York City. While in New York, she attended art classes at The School of Visual Arts and plein air painting workshops in Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and Maine, but, for the most part, she is a self-taught artist.
The Westport Library is located at 20 Jesup Rd. in Westport. For further information, phone (203) 291-4800, or visit westportlibrary.org.
