New Contemporary Art Gallery Coming to Bedford Square in Westport

Newton Roux is a new contemporary art gallery opening in  Bedford Square in downtown Westport focused on emerging realist and abstract painters. Its first solo exhibition "Seen and Not Seen" will feature over 25 paintings by Brooklyn artist LJ Lindhurst which will run for 6 weeks. The photorealistic works by Lindhurst features a highly varied array of subjects from whimsical magnified toys to vignettes of everyday life.

The opening reception will be held on Friday, May 25th from 6pm to 9pm and is open to the public. All are welcome to come and meet the artist in person and enjoy free wine and beer while viewing the artist’s' work which is for sale through the gallery.

The gallery itself is a striking, oversized, thoughtfully illuminated corridor that leads from Elm Street down to business entrances for Whip Salon and the Higgins Real Estate Group. With Bedford Square's prestigious anchor store Anthropologie being joined by Williams Sonoma, HSBC and Barbour opening soon, foot traffic is steadily increasing and the gallery owners are excited to lend something meaningful and unexpected to the visitor experience at the complex.

Newton Roux gallery is located in Bedford Square at 14 Elm Street on the 2nd Floor. The entrance is at the top of the stairs across the street from The Spotted Horse. For more information visit the website at www.newtonroux.com or the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/newtonrouxart.
