Why did you start your business?
Positive Directions - The Center for Prevention and Counseling was established in 1971 in Westport, CT as a volunteer effort by recovering alcoholics to support recovery and bring awareness and prevention into school and community programs. Since then, treatment and prevention programs have evolved to become more disciplined and outcome focused, and Positive Directions today emphasizes evidence-supported clinical treatment services and community focused prevention programs.
At Positive Directions, we wish we could create a world free of stigmatization around mental health and substance abuse. We believe in the strengths of the clients and communities we serve and do our best to provide the outstanding prevention programming and counseling services that contribute to building resilient families.
Best selling product/service?
Our best selling service is accessibility to clinical counseling services. We are in-network with most insurance plans and also offer a sliding scale fee structure for those in need. We do our best to see clients within the same week they initially reach out for an appointment. In addition, organizations will often call on us to provide professional development training around the risks associated with substance abuse.
