Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Skinny Pines Mobile Wood Fired Catering.

Three questions with Jeff Borofsky, owner of Skinny Pines.

Why did you start your business?

I was looking for a business that I could use my culinary talents and have the flexibility to spend more time with our growing family.  The pizza business was born.

Now we love using locally sourced ingredients to make our great wood-fired pizza

Best selling product/service?

Our pizza parties are the main service we offer. From small private back yard parties or a large 200 person wedding, we can cater pretty much any event.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

  • Sport Hill Farm
  • Fleishers Craft Butchery
  • Westport Farmers Market
  • ...and plenty more!
