Why did you start A Dash of Salt?
I wanted to start a food-centric family. I was inspired to create this family myself with inspiring, uplifting, and flavourful dishes that cause a ripple effect bringing people together, nourishing the experience around eating.
Best selling product or service?
We've been seeing more requests for plant-based food, incorporated into our traditional catering menus. More people are riding the "plant-based" wave, vegan and vegetarian alike... We host vegan cooking demos and private cooking classes. I lost 70 pounds eating a plant-based diet & incorporating regular exercise. My cholesterol went from 330 to 150; My doctor was more than pleased. I felt so much lighter, happier, and overall just better and now I feel inspired to influence others to eat plant-based because I've experienced the benefits.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
I enjoy working with people and organizations that are making a difference in the community. It is always great working with local non-profits, churches, etc. Right now we are working with Family Centers of Greenwich, and Pivot Ministries. We also provide food weekly for the Rotary Club of Westport. Every year we donate to Greenwich Hospital and Homes with Hope.
