Cabell Molina Solo Show Well Received by Local Art Community
On Saturday, February 9th more than 125 people gathered in Westport's hottest new art spot to check out Cabell Molina's contemporary art show titled "You Are Enough" at Newton Roux Gallery in Bedford Square. Molina's show features women depicted in the pre-feminist movement using a combination of paint and collage from photography and fashion magazines.
"I saw a passion for life and mysterious longing behind the docile smiles in that time period," says Molina. "Perhaps the flamboyant fashion with it’s adornments were an expression of a deeper more complex layer underneath. I became interested in exploring the forbidden aspects of the female experience of that time."
