Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Wisdom & Youth!

Three questions with Brittany Eaton, founder of Wisdom & Youth.

Why did you start your business?

For multiple reasons, but mainly I started my business because I love what I do! I have always had a passion for aesthetics and medicine. I am a residency trained surgical physician assistant (PA) specializing in plastic and general surgery, so knowing your anatomy and having a good steady hand are part of the job. After training with injectable’s for many years, while still working in surgery, the stars aligned and I was able to team up with my Medical Director and very talented plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Anke Ott Young, and Wisdom & Youth MedSpa was born!

I was finally able to marry aesthetics and medicine, specializing in facial injectables while building lasting relationships with my clients. As a small non-intimidating boutique, Wisdom & Youth offers evening and weekend hours. I also pride myself on offering specialized services, so I can focus on what I am best at, which it conservative facial optimization.

What is your best selling product/service?

Lip enhancements! With the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it is important to take your time, especially when dealing with the face and such a highly vascularized area, set expectations and subtly enhance already beautiful features my clients have. Everyone is unique and therefore it is crucial to listen to individual desires and help achieve these desires with customized techniques. Lips come in all different shapes and sizes, knowing how to appropriately augment them is imperative.

And, of course, neuromodulators such as “Botox,” “Dysport” & “Jeuveau,” to help relax those pesky muscles in between the eyes, forehead and crow’s feet, because, who really wants deep creases on their face?

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

With only opening my doors in September 2019, I am still trying to “hoof it” and network with businesses, but it has always been my belief to build relationships with the locals and support each other, especially in such a fantastic community such as Westport! There truly is something for everyone!

I have also held a fundraiser and donated fo the Norma Pfriem Breast Cancer Foundation. I believe it is important to give back, and I want to emphasize that it is and always has been a strong driving force since opening my business. I hope to collaborate with other charities that are close to my heart in the future.
