Westport Library Expands Hours & Services as of Nov. 9

Westport, CT – The Westport Library announced that starting on Monday, November 9, it will be expanding in-person operating hours, instituting cart-side pick-up service, and will offer access to its Media Studios, Maker Space, and Children’s Department by appointment. The Library will continue to provide patrons with assistance by phone or through the chat feature on its website and make available for free its extensive digital collection and extensive virtual programming.

The Library’s new hours will be Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm.  The Library will remain closed on Sunday.

Patrons will have the option to browse for materials in the Library, place them on hold remotely, or by calling 203.291.4807.  Items placed on hold can be picked up in the Library in the tent outside of the building. Once notified by Library staff that items are ready for pick-up, they can be collected at any time during Library hours.  This replaces the current curbside pick-up arrangement.  Homebound delivery services will continue for residents who are either homebound or fall into a high-risk category that prevents them from visiting the Library.

The Library is also adding printing services to the use of three Express computers and will reintroduce Interlibrary Loans from in-state Libraries.

Shopping in the Library store will continue in person or virtually by appointment.  Appointments are for 25 minutes and can be scheduled through https://form.jotform.com/202156266125146

To support social distancing and adequately manage the flow of people, the Library will continue to limit the number of people in the building to 100 at any given time.

The safety and health of patrons and staff remain our priority as we continue to abide by federal, state, and local regulations and guidance.  We appreciate the patience and understanding of the community as we make our best efforts to meet their needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
