Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT ORGANACHS Farm To Skin!

Four questions with Siobhan D. McKinley, founder of ORGANACHS Farm To Skin.

Why did you start your business?

I felt passionate about offering the community the opportunity to discover effective, safe, and result-driven natural skincare products. I have spent my career in the beauty industry and after having children I became more aware of how important it is to read ingredient lists and be just as disciplined about what you put on your body as what you put in your body.

Living an organic lifestyle as much as possible is important to me and I feel that organic skincare is the healthier alternative to conventional brands.

What is your best-selling product/service?

I have several best-selling products, but to point out a few would be Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum, Irish brand- VOYA, and their Me Time moisturizer, Suntegrity Sunscreen, Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser. We also offer facial treatments by the Internationally known Irish spa brand, VOYA. VOYA is found in some of the world's 5-star hotels and spas and we are honored to offer the same facial treatments in our beauty cocoon at ORGANACHS.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I've worked with Pink Aid to support breast cancer survivors, Westport Downtown Merchant association, and I've donated to many charitable events over the past 5 years.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

This summer I launched The Home Collection by ORGANACHS. This is a sustainably-minded, curated capsule of home decor and accessories. Each item has a unique story that embodies tradition and craftsmanship from Europe and the U.S.
