Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Traci Provost!

Four questions with Traci Provost, founder of Divorce Financial Care.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business because I have watched the court systems erode over the last decade and how that has impacted families in the divorce process. I help provide empathy and clarity to my clients before, during, and after divorce to help them understand their options and how divorce will impact them financially.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Empathy is one of the best services I offer. My clients want to be, heard, understood, and most of all, they want to understand what their financial life will look like after divorce.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I use many local professionals to assist clients such as attorneys, CPA’’s, therapists, and realtors.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

I think the pandemic has helped reimagine my practice as I became certified as a financial neutral in collaborative divorce so clients never have to step foot in a courthouse... A team of professionals helps guide families through the transition so they can all move forward in a positive way. It also tends to be less costly than litigation.
