Four questions with Alina Rodescu-Pitchon.

Why did you start your business?

Being in the architecture field for over thirty years, I wanted to combine my two areas of expertise: Architecture and Real Estate. I wanted to have my own standards of excellence and felt it was important to be in control of all aspects of home search/building.

I tend to think outside the box and working for someone else would not allow me to give full reign to my creativity and abilities.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Frankly, my best-selling services are my unabashed honesty, architectural expertise, and loyalty to my clients. I treat them as I would want to be treated. When advising on a home, I have the same considerations for them as I would for myself.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I try to use as many local businesses as possible. For help with helping a seller purge and organize their home and get it ready for listing, I use Susan Littman's PERSONAL SPACES. For Home Inspections, I use PRO-CHECK. For Septic Inspections, I use MIKE'S SEPTIC.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Yes, I have. I've "reimagined" it as a one-stop shop for your new home needs. I can hold my client's hand from beginning to end, from finding/selling their home to renovating it or building a new one. Many of my clients are new to the area and I share with them information and contacts who will prove helpful to them.

I may also say that in a mostly man's world of building, I offer a different experience in this field. My empathy and understanding of how a home is used and what's important to my clients, along with my building team that is hard-working and extremely kind and responsive, make it an unexpectedly pleasant experience.

There will always be stress in moving or renovating a home. It's my job to make sure that my clients know what we all want to know...that all will be well.
