Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Surface of Westport!

Four questions with Jo Ann Ceasrine, Lead Designer at Surface of Westport.

Why did you start your business?

Surface of Westport was created to showcase a beautiful lifestyle showroom, featuring custom installations from our parent company.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Our best selling product is that we specialize in high-end residential design, providing our customers with impeccable service.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We support our stone yards in the greater CT Area: Everest Marble Norwalk, Akdo Bridgeport, European Marble Bridgeport

As a designer, I support many local boutique stores for accessories and home furnishings, like Westport Carpet!

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

We are always brainstorming about our services to the community, and participate in fundraising and special home furnishings events.

Jo Ann would nominate Westport Carpet to be featured next!

The surface of Westport is located at 1320 Post Road East in Westport. Visit Surface of Westport online here, and make sure to check out their Facebook and Instagram pages as well!
