Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Nuthatch Naturals!

Three questions with Marc de Mul, founder of Nuthatch Naturals.

Why did you start your business?

I started Nuthatch Naturals when my wife and I could not find any skin care products on the market designed for children with dry skin. My daughter had dry, itchy skin and we needed a natural and sustainable moisturizing lotion without any antiaging ingredients. The products we found were very medicinal and my daughter would not use them. We decided to make our own!

What is your best-selling product/service?

We are selling our Daily Soothing Lotion on our website (nuthatchnaturals.com) and Amazon as a single bottle and a 3-pack.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Our lotion is made at a lab in Long Island. We used a local artist, Priscilla Prentice, to design our packaging because we wanted it to look child friendly. Our website was built and is maintained by CRIANA in New Milford.
