SHU Community Theatre Announces New Membership Packages & Take-A-Seat Campaign

The Sacred Heart University Community Theatre is offering membership packages that include priority ticket access and other benefits. It also has launched a new Take-A-Seat program that gives patrons an opportunity to purchase a seat plaque to honor a loved one or promote a business or organization.

Membership packages are tailored to families, seniors, individuals and Sacred Heart alumni, making it easier than ever to take advantage of the theatre’s world-class concerts and performances, lectures, youth programs and other entertainment.Memberships include priority ticket access for all live events, the ability to exchange tickets in case of a change of plans and free tickets to popular and classic movies shown regularly at the theatre.

The Take-A-Seat campaign is an opportunity to personalize a seat with a plaque inscribed with the name of friends, family or other loved ones, or even a graduation year, class motto, favorite song title or business or organization name. Plaques will remain in place for two years.

Each seat plaque and membership purchased will help expand programming and support operations at SHU Community Theatre as it continues to grow into one of the premier performing arts facilities in the region.

The theatre, housed in a 100-year-old performance venue that dates back to silent movies, is a nonprofit performing arts center in the heart of downtown Fairfield. It pairs entertainment and education in a fully reimagined, 400-seat performance space. From live concerts and theatrical performances to film screenings, author talks and hands-on learning activities, SHU Community Theatre’s offerings make it a cornerstone of cultural enrichment for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Some upcoming shows include stand-up comics Paula Poundstone and Robert Klein, as well as musical guests Naturally 7, described as “the best a cappella group in the world,” and A.J. Croce, performing classics by his father, the late Jim Croce, and his own tunes.
