Southport, CT - The Connecticut Port Authority will be holding a press conference on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11 am at Perry Green, 701 Harbor Road in Southport. The press conference will highlight two Southport Harbor projects being funded by grants recently awarded to the Town of Fairfield through the Port Authority's Small Harbor Improvement Projects Program (SHIPP). At the request of the Harbor Management Commission, $266,000 has been awarded for dredging of the Town Boat Yard (Ye Yacht Yard) marina basin and completion of the reconstruction of the boat launching ramp, and $6,500 has been provided to help update the Southport Harbor Management Plan.
Those speaking at the press conference will include CT Port Authority representatives, state and town officials and others associated with the projects.
