Westport Resident Takes Connecticut State Senate Seat at 22

A 22 year old Democrat Will Haskell from Westport, Will Haskell has claimed the 26th State Senate seat from Wilton resident, Republican, Toni Boucher. 

Haskell, a 2014 Staples High School grad,  earned a degree at Georgetown where he helped launch the Free Speech Project, an academic initiative with a mission of monitoring and protecting the freedom of expression. He has earned the support from politicians locally and globally, including former President of the United States, Barak Obama.

According to Haskell's campaign website, he worked for the Democratic National Committee, where he analyzed state legislation and fought to protect the right to vote. He has also interned with Hillary for America and the Capitol Hill offices of Congressman Jim Himes and Senator Chris Murphy. In Washington, he assisted the Community Tax Aid program by lending a hand to low-income residents as they filed their taxes.
