First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker has announced that, in coordination with the Public Works, Planning & Zoning and Public Safety Departments, the Town will host its next Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Update Session on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 7:00 PM in the Town Hall Auditorium.
The purpose of the meeting will be to update the public on progress on the Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Summary Report, as well as to allow additional discussion and input from residents about traffic and areas of concern they may have in their neighborhoods.
As with the previous meetings held for each neighborhood district in 2022, the resulting Summary Report that was published in February, 2023, and the Update Session held this past spring, included in this discussion will be employees who are experienced in traffic management, knowledgeable of roadway conditions, engineering, and possible speed calming solutions, as well as the regulations and oversight authority of the Town.
First Selectwoman Tooker noted, “The work to address these challenges is ongoing and an important function of town staff. Staff have been working diligently to manage questions and update the report to reflect additional issues, as well as making strides in resolving a number of traffic and road safety concerns. Having continued open dialogue is imperative if we are to keep informed and on task. These public outreach meetings are a critical step in achieving that mission.”
