January 2013 -- Wilton, CT – Wilton-based Advocate with Faith welcomes Gloria Bass as partner, bringing her years of expertise working with the special needs community. In addition to its suite of education advocacy services, the company will now broaden its focus to incorporate community outreach programs.
Ms. Bass, former Special Needs Coordinator and Outreach Director at the Wilton Y, brings deep knowledge and a vast network of resources to the practice. She has served as the local liaison for the CT Special Olympics in addition to creating and implementing numerous social programs for children with special needs – experiences that will enrich the local community while continuing to raise awareness for the population.
Faith Filiault, founder of Advocate with Faith, will continue to focus on special education advocacy – including navigating through the bureaucratic maze of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and state and federal laws. Filiault is a "Wright's Law" trained special education advocate, a program developed by Pete Wright, a noted special education advocate, lawyer and author.
Advocate with Faith is offering the following workshops and events – please check the website for details and registration. "From Emotions to Advocacy" is a comprehensive workshop that provides tools, tips and tactics to ensure your child is receiving the best, most appropriate education available for his/her Individual Education Plan.
