
5th Grade: Wilton White 38 – Darien White 14
The 5th Grade White Warriors improved to 6 wins and no losses for the season by defeating Darien White 38 to 14 this past Sunday at Darien. Darien scored first against a tough Warriors defense with some nifty running. Wilton responded right back on its third offensive play when Ryan Preisano ran it in from 3-yards out. Darien responded right back with another touchdown, making the score 14 to 8 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Warrior defense then clamped down and held Darien scoreless the rest of the game. Wilton would then go on to score three touchdowns in the 2nd quarter; a 3-yard rumble by fullback William Sullivan, Sullivan scored again on a 24-yard run and halfback Tommy McKiernan ran 65 yards for a touchdown. The Warriors went into halftime with a 32 to 14 lead. The Warriors opened the 3rd quarter with a ten-play drive that resulted in a 15-yard touchdown run by quarterback George Hahn. Michael Wall kicked 4-two point extra point conversions. The score was 38 to 14, Wilton, at and would stay that way once the Warrior defense shutdown the Darien offense the second half. The Warriors play their last regular season game next Sunday at 1:30 PM at Fujitani Field against New Canaan Black.
