New Canaan Library Hosts Celebratory Event: Happy Hour with Auhor Stephanie Clifford

Raise your glasses to a bright new literary voice! New Canaan Library is thrilled to host a special event in celebration of Stephanie Clifford and her highly acclaimed New York Times bestselling debut novel, Everybody Rise, a sharply perceived story of social striving and class distinction. Join friends on Thursday, November 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library's Curtis Gallery for Happy Hour with Stephanie Clifford.

The evening includes book signing by Elm Street Books, a talk by Stephanie and what's sure to be a lively Q & A session. With wine offerings by PJ Marcella and ONE HOPE  Wines, the evening will be one to remember. Space is limited, please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.

Featured in Time Magazine's Summer Reading, Everybody Rise is a cautionary tale, set in pre-recession Manhattan, where the young and privileged enjoy a booming stock market and all the perks that come with a top education and the resulting ambitious, high paying job. Into this world arrives Evelyn Beegan, the socially anxious heroine of this fast-paced and biting commentary on class and class distinctions. With her keen reporter's eye, New York Times reporter Stephanie Clifford captures every nuance of the lives of those who have it all, and those who strive to.

Stephanie Clifford is a Loeb-award winning reporter at The New York Times, where she has covered business, media and New York City. She is currently a Metro reporter covering federal and state courts in Brooklyn. She joined The New York Times in 2008 from Inc. magazine, where she was a senior writer. Stephanie grew up in Seattle and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband, son and two cats. Everybody Rise  is her first book.
