Trackside in Wilton Holds Self-Defense Class for Teens and Moms

Girls in high school and their moms are invited to register for a special class series designed to teach self-defense techniques for women. Instructor Lisa Bohacs will be teaching the Mother-Daughter Self-Defense class at Trackside on Monday evenings January 22nd through February 12th from 7pm to 8pm. In this class, students will practice self-defense techniques designed to help women stay safe by learning how to escape dangerous situations and defend themselves from physical attacks.

Lisa Bohacs has been involved in the Martial Arts for 37 years.  She is a 5th degree black belt and has been teaching for 33 years. She has competed nationally and internationally for the U.S.A. She has been on four U.S.A. National teams, has taken two individual silver medals and one bronze in women’s heavyweight fighting and two overall team gold medals.

“With the self-defense programs we bring to the Teen Center, our mission is to arm women and girls with the skills and confidence to stay safe,” said Trackside Program Director, Amy Nassef. “It is empowering for girls and women to know how to defend themselves from danger. With the High School Mother/Daughter Self-Defense Class, our mission is to train women to use a variety of self-defense techniques.”

Those who are interested in joining are encouraged to register soon as class space is limited. Registration is available online at www.trackside.org. There is a class fee of $100 per student, or $200 per mother/daughter pair. For more information, please call (203) 834-2888 or email Amy@trackside.org.
