There is a new dentist in Wilton and her name is Dr. Beckie D’Andrea. Dr. D’Andrea purchased Wilton Dental Associates located at 44 Ridgefield Road in Wilton and she is excited to bring her experience and warm, compassionate bedside manner to the community.
“My lifelong dream was to have my own dental practice in a small town and take care of people the old-fashioned way, much like my childhood dentist. I was intrigued and influenced by my family dentist growing up… he would always draw me pictures to explain what he was doing and why, and that had an impact on me,” D’Andrea said.
Dr. D’Andrea received her DDS degree from the Medical College of Virginia and did her fellowship at the University of Washington School of Dentistry to treat patients with special needs and disabilities.
She did her residency at the University of Maryland, completed a year-long aesthetic program at NYU and is currently pursuing her Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Her wellness approach to dentistry considers the mouth as an integrated part of the body and believes oral problems relate to total body health.
“To be able to relieve pain, both oral and emotional, is such a gift to me,” D’Andrea said. In addition to her clinic in Haiti, she has also volunteered her time on mission trips to the Dominican Republic and for Hurricane Sandy victims. Dr. D’Andrea loves practicing dentistry and considers herself blessed to do something she enjoys so much. For her, dentistry is the perfect profession because she gets to bring beauty, compassion, and well-being into the lives of others.
