Each week, look for a listing of weekend events and activities. The Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County celebrates the vibrancy and diversity of the arts and culture across the 15 towns in our region of coastal Fairfield County and each Wednesday issues our free eBuzz newsletter with a selection of the hundreds of events posted to our website.
Whether March goes out like a lion or lamb, it’s always great to welcome April in all its glory. As flowers bloom and sunshine abounds, the arts and culture scene also comes alive with art openings, music explosions, and the annual VersoFest weekend of music and media.
The Mayor’s Gallery of Stamford

Experience an exhibition of Persian influenced paintings and pastels by Afsaneh Djabbari-Aslani. This Iranian born artist attended USC’s Roski School of Art and Design at the onset of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, and her work is influenced by this imbalanced world. Through the backdrop of inequality, sexism and misogyny, Afsie has managed to infuse her work with bright colors, light, water, texture and reflections, tracing back to her Persian roots where color and decorative art is part of its rich history. On view weekdays 9am - 4pm through May 4th.

Join the annual music & media conference & festival, where knowledge is shared & inspiration is discovered. As a forum for media creators, artists & fans to converge, this festival includes panels where experts share their perspective & vision, intimate workshops, and performances. Featuring great bands like Sunflower Bean and the Smithereens, a keynote conversation with Steve Lillywhite and Chris Frantz, Rock Photography, workshops and master classes, and so much more. “WordPlay: Messages in Branches & Bark” Exhibition
Flinn Gallery, Greenwich Library
Friday, MAR 31 - Saturday, APR 1, 10 am - 5 pm & Sunday, APR 2, 1 - 5 pm
In collaboration with browngrotta arts of Wilton, this exhibition features the work of two internationally renowned artists, Gyöngy Laky and John McQueen. Both artists use materials found in nature in combination with unexpected man-made elements to create baskets and other recognizable forms, such as words, symbols, books, and animal and human figures. The exhibition was planned to coincide with Earth Day.
On view through May 10.

A great show for the entire family to enjoy together and a great way to introduce younger audiences to live theatre! Enjoy a live theatrical production of a beloved classic in Stamford’s Kweskin Theatre through April 22nd. The stage production is very faithful to the movie with dialogue and music taken directly from the film.

This is a MUST-SEE! The Milford Arts Council (the MAC) welcomes back The Alexis P. Suter Band to its intimate stage with cabaret-style table seating. Alexis P. Suter is the owner of that big, booming voice you can hear roaring out of Brooklyn into the heart of the Northeast and beyond. Bluesman B.B. remarked on playing with Suter: “It’s a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady.”

One of the country’s hottest bluegrass/indie/Americana bands, hailing from Brooklyn. This engaging, energetic, creative trio brings a toe-tapping, hand-clapping bluegrass, roots rock, old time, and vintage swing. Multi-instrumentalist and primary lyricist Max Capistran (guitar and banjo), ), bassist Sasha Dubyk, and fiddler Avery Ballott each delight in entertaining in their own unique way.

Ukrainian Egg (Pysanky) Decorating Workshop

Learn the colorful and venerable craft of decorating eggs in the Ukrainian style. Expert egg decorator Susan Clark will lead this workshop for adults and children in the ancient craft that uses symbols and motifs to create an intricate, jewel-like egg. Decorate eggs in a traditional design, or create your own.
